University Strategic Plan
A Strategic Plan for the New Rutgers
The Board of Governors has approved a strategic plan for the new Rutgers—a document that expresses a bold vision and strategy for the next five years.
The plan, conceived at a singular moment in our nearly 250-year history and the result of more than a year of universitywide discussion and analysis initiated by President Robert Barchi, sets a clear ambition for the university:
Rutgers aspires to be broadly recognized as among the nation’s leading public universities: preeminent in research, excellent in teaching, and committed to community.
President Barchi has begun to implement the strategic plan through a series of major initiatives, and the chancellors of the University's campuses in New Brunswick, Newark, and Camden and of Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences are preparing strategic plans that complement the universitywide plan.
